The head of Amirkabir University of Technology announced that conditional students will be organized
in the current semester.
The acting head of Amirkabir University of Technology announced the organization of students with academic deficiencies and conditional status in the current semester. He stated, "The involvement of an advisory professor for discussion with students, informing the family and the students themselves, and ultimately introducing them to the counseling center are three actions that we will take with students with academic deficiencies.

According to the public relations office of the university, Dr. Alireza Rahaei, in the Council of Health and Islamic Lifestyle of Iran, with the presence of Dr. Ebrahim Naeemi, the director of the counseling and health office of the Ministry of Science, Hojatolislam Rajabi, the head of the Supreme Leader's representative office at the university, Dr. Milad Rezaei, the deputy for development and resource management, and Dr. Sara Izadian, the head of the counseling center, said, "About 12 years ago, we implemented the plan 'Transition from student life to university life' with 18 programs and items as a mandatory educational program, which included an exam at the end that was considered a criterion for registering for the next semester. However, after the year 2014, due to changes and developments in management, this plan was set aside. But this year, we evaluated in a session that the above plan has been a good plan, and even two weeks ago, we had a session with our new students, where they expressed their views on their classes, and 80% of them emphasized that we should relaunch the above program.

Rahaei announced the organization of conditional students from this year and said, "Part of this plan is carried out in the educational area and part in the student area. In fact, a student who enters the university in the current semester may experience a decline in GPA with or without conditional status. Therefore, we are doing three things: a group of advisory professors are trained on how to deal with these students, we inform the families of the students about the academic decline or conditional status, and finally, we inform the students themselves that they are facing a problem and the cause of this should be examined in the student area and counseling.
He also mentioned, "The above chart and its system have been approved and will be implemented from this semester. In other words, we will investigate the academic decline and the issues that lead to students' academic decline and actively address the causes. Serious planning has also been carried out in this regard.

The acting head of Amirkabir University of Technology stated, "We are trying to provide a new physical space for the student counseling center and provide them with more facilities, so we have considered a space outside the university environment in this regard. This is because the busiest areas of our university are in the counseling center, so we have made efforts to consider a physical space attached to the university but separate from the university for this purpose.

The deputy of cultural and student affairs at Amirkabir University of Technology emphasized the need to equip counseling rooms in dormitories.
The deputy of cultural and student affairs at Amirkabir University of Technology emphasized the need to equip counseling rooms in dormitories and stated, "This issue is a serious priority for us at Amirkabir University of Technology, and we will pursue it. We need a larger budget in this area.

Dr. Sara Izadian also announced the launch of a referral line for the professors of this university and said, "Based on this, professors can refer calls, and the center's manager can also have this line on their phone and even answer these calls at night.

Dr. Izadian stated, "The statistics of students' weakened connection with their families after the spread of the coronavirus are a very crucial issue. Their connection to their families has weakened, and this issue is indicative of future damages because if someone has a strong connection with their family and benefits from emotional support, warmth, and subsequent support, they will not face many damages.

She further stated, "We need to investigate why family ties have weakened further after the spread of the coronavirus. We know that Iranian and Islamic culture is extremely family-oriented, and the further we distance ourselves from this culture, the more we harm the family. But we need to understand what has happened in this period that has weakened this relationship.

Dr. Izadian emphasized the need to equip counseling rooms in dormitories and reiterated, "This issue is a serious priority for us at Amirkabir University of Technology, and we will pursue it. We need a larger budget in this area.
In emphasizing the need to utilize the capacity of professors to provide intellectual assistance to students, she added, "Students are more in contact with professors, and counseling centers play a secondary role for students. For this reason, we need to produce good persuasive content for professors. We also need to be able to visit faculties and talk to professors so that they can be justified about the content they need to present to students.

She emphasized, "What caused us to have fewer current damages to young people and students in the 60s, 70s, and 80s, etc., goes back to the theory of cultural health. In fact, when all elements of culture exist together, the society will be reformed unconsciously from within. But when this culture becomes weak, the resulting damages will begin. In fact, when the credibility of this culture diminishes and is transferred to other anomalies, we will face many damages.

At the end, the deputy of cultural and student affairs at Amirkabir University of Technology referred to the role of counseling centers in reducing damages among students and said, "Counseling centers can be a significant cultural element in today's society, so that if the orientation of these centers is towards the revival and empowerment of the family, we can regain our healthy foundations and will not face a multitude of problems.
